I have to admit, the Flying Dutchman is a fantastic piece that will look good in any display. I found it to be the perfect size, and the lights really bring it to life. And boy they are bright.
However, the build was frustrating. Some pieces are not sturdy when connected, and will easily fall off when a mosquito flies by. For example, the bowsprit fell off countless times, causing green spikes to drop off.
The instructions could be better organised. Early on you are guided to add decorative pieces to the sides of the ship, until further into the build you’re told to take them off and apply stickers. Oh, come on.
But, if you ride it out, it does look great when finished. Just don’t breathe on it.

Loved building this! Have one small issue with regard to the lowered front pointed build
Loved building this! Have one small issue with regard to the lowered front pointed build, it needs more support, maybe like a corner angle piece on both side at the bow for the length of the piece. And the small square with two holes doesn't really accommodate the little spikes, maybe one that's hollow? Mine keep dropping out, too long to stay put.
Other than that it's made my Halloween spookier!

The Flying Dutchman
This was another great build. I had fun building it, the only complaint I have is that the fabric sails where folded in the package so they are creased and don't lay flat.
It looks great along side the other two that go with the set.

The build was a little tough on the finger tips but in the end it came out nice
The build was a little tough on the finger tips but in the end it came out nice. Only critique would be the cannons need to be secured a little better. If you grab the model incorrectly you can easily push a cannon inside the hull and to get to it is quite difficult as you need to remove a lot of pieces.

The Flying Dutchman is Aces
This kit is wonderful and precise. I especially like the LED lights, It was a gift for my adult son and it was enough of a challenge that he really enjoyed it.
